Game jams in general formal education

چکیده

This article summarises three years of studying game jams. Rooted in extensive field work — participating, organising, and discussing jams multiple methods, we have explored different digital non-digital jamming formats to apply educational settings, especially the Finnish context general formal teaching for 16–19 year olds. paper sums up our main findings arranged thematically. We claim that is a viable method education, although learning outcomes vary can be difficult verify, participants themselves report perceived increased motivation. also discuss values present research project inclusivity describe various ways organise classrooms, along with teacher competencies resources needed. Based on these viewpoints provide recommendations, grounded both practice, how use schools teach, example, STEAM other 21st century skills. • Game are pedagogically compatible education. experiences increase motivation selfefficacy. Successful pedagogical require careful planning. A non-competitive approach support lower barriers entry. Not all students interested making or games general.
